BEFORE & AFTER @ THE GRIDDLE CAFE

"The Yellow Brick Road" pancakes. Can you tell which was when? and we continued to eat the leftovers the next two days! haha

THE HOLLYWOOD HISTORIC HOTEL

A LITTLE BIT of our stay at the HHH - Hollywood Historic Hotel. Great location, conveniently near a bus stop, quite a walk to the nearest metro train stop, and no elevator... but over all for $49/night, free parking, a public transportation ride away from almost anywhere worth going in la, and  most importantly a clean, safe room all to ourselves, I would love to go back!

FNO LA

September 10, 2010: Fashion's Night Out 2010 in LA! We walked along Melrose, stopped by Betsey Johnson, Fred Segal, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Coco De Mer, Marc by and Marc Jacobs, and more. We didn't buy anything, but we did enjoy the food trucks and the complimentary photos and drinks!

EGG IN A CUP

Here is another recipe for "eggs in a cup" .. cup of bacon that is! this looks very easy and very delicious.

yum!

MOST IMPORTANT MEAL OF THE DAY.. OF YOUR LIFE

I cannot wait to try out this recipe from smitten kitchen. It combines two of my most beloved foods: pizza and breakfast.

There is also this restaurant called Little Dom's in Los Feliz that was featured on the Food Network's Best Thing I Ever Ate for their breakfast pizza! only served till 2 and with a looong wait probably. Here it is:

DYSON

As I lay in bed in my room upstairs at about a little over 80 degrees.. trying to keep cool while watching netflix online, my Honeywell REMOTE CONTROLLED fan drowns out any sound coming from my computer, specifically Daniel Tosh's voice (hahaha ;) ), forcing me to chose. Either be hot and entertained till i fall asleep OR be somewhat cool and lay in silence till i fall asleep. Yeah the normal person would say just go to bed with the fan on and no computer.. ahem, ALEX hahaha (HOI BTW!!)

anyways, this dilemma made me think about something that I've had my eye on for a little bit. THE KINDA NEW DYSON AIR MULTIPLIER!!! I think Dyson is such an innovative company with cool yet uselful takes on houshold products aka the bagless, dual cyclone, Dyson Ball yellow vacuum! i want that too. but anyways, back to the air multiplier.

just watching this video though almost put me right to sleep.... but don't let boring ol' physics turn you off!

this one on the other hand.. very entertaining

Dyson Balloon Course @ Yahoo! Video

i want to test drive one! maybe on my next target trip

1/2 a cup of love

I realized, i can and will put up recipes to try out here!!

OH LUI LUI LUI

LUI - translates to "him", a french mens magazine created in 1963 by "fashion photographer turned publisher" Daniel Filipacchi. Here are a bunch of covers:

COMING UP: playboy archive!

OH NO POTATO DONO!!

I was watching The Soup and they showed this clip from an anime called "Dai Mahou Touge"  which is "Magical Witch Punie-Chan" in english. hahaha and this clip is basically of a suicidal potato

HOW VERY SWEET IT WILL SEEM

I literally just came across this video Fiona Apple + Jon Brion covering one of my favorite songs. I had no idea! But Jon Brion & Fiona Apple together are a great duo.

I love Nancy Sinatra's version of this song also.

Their take on Do Nothin Till You Hear From Me is also one of my favorites (on brion's myspace). When I say favorite, I mean I can listen to these songs on repeat all day, all week! yes, i am crazy

RING DING DONG RING DING DING DONG

this house of harlow 1960 key ring is so cute. when on, it looks like those double finger rings, which has been the trend in stores lately.. $48! i orginally saw it on thecherryblosssomgirl and it IS adorable.

I SCREAM FOR ICE CREAM

Summer is officially over and it is 103 degrees outside. to beat the heat here are some ice cream places i've been to recently:

LAKE STREET CREAMERY - tried lake street creamery yesterday finally! we tried a scoop of  the doughnut flavor which should've been made into an ice cream float, but that's what next time is for and their 5 o'clock shadow special called the don draper (yes, from mad men) which was described as bourbon, vanilla, smoke, and caramel. it doesn't sound appealing at all and it wasn't.hahaha, but i love mad men so much i paid $4.00 for it, gagged, then threw it away. hahahaha oh well.

cute waffle bowls and wooden spoons
i just noticed they had their own trash cans matching their truck!
some of the menu

and because of their don draper flavor, they went on a visit to the set of MAD MEN!

SCOOPS - heard about this place a lot and was excited to finally try it! they had many different combinations of flavors! alex & i had 4 scoops, 4 different flavors which is really "2 SCOOPS" on their menu. "1 SCOOP" is really two regular scoops. can't remember, but trying to research, the exact flavors we tried but it went something like this: passion fruit blueberry, banana bread something, maple beer batter i think, red wine and lychee, apricot and ugh  you get the picture. there were so many odd pairings, i think we sampled about everything and the girl who was helping us was friendly and had lots of patience, haha. the flavors are all unusual but surprisingly good, refreshing, and yummy!

here's a portrait by a favorite photographer ye rin mok of owner Tai Kim on the left..  i think

other places to try again and for the first time:
pazzo gelato
milk again
lake street again
scoops again
